If you're logging into Gmail with a web browser, and the web page will not load for you, there are a few things you need to try to get things back up and running again.
Edit: @sfhowes, I know you're not asking me but when I used normal password I was able to login into two of my gmail alternatives account and those two have been able to be opened on thunderbird. I haven't tried using normal password login on my primary gmail account because I'm worried about the security. To try using Gmail without any extensions, open Gmail using your browser's incognito or private browsing mode. Step 3: Clear your browser's cache & cookies. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, then using Gmail again to see if that solves the problem. The steps above didn't help.
